My Scholarship entry - China & the Yellow River
China | Wednesday, October 22, 2014 | 5 photos
The yellow river has huge cultural significance in China. It is referred to as the 'mother river'. Despite this, many of the towns and villages based along or around it are slowly becoming more dilapidated and abandoned, due to an increase of people moving to the city.
Along the length of the river, tourism still supports some of the residents who live nearby or next to. Though many of these people live in very basic conditions, there is still beauty to be found in the areas, and a great depth to be explored within each individual town.
