Whistler Take Two

CANADA | Friday, 11 September 2009 | Views [308] | Comments [2]

Well still take one!
Today was a very eventful day... as will tomorrow be..
Today started with a wander thru the Village to the bottom of the Gondola rides... met up with Calvin and Josh.. both friends of friends. we went to the top of Wistler Peak which was awesome.. and then across the Peak to Peak to Blackcomb and then back to Whistler.
we decided after to have some lunch and wander some more, at this time I recieved a phone call from my new employer to see if I could start work on wednesday and not 3-4 weeks away... I replied with "only if you got some of the cheap accomodation available from Saturday" with that organised and my next week roster organised I am to start work!
I am a check out chick in a supermarket, but this means cheap food and cheap accomodationa and a cheap Lift pass for the entire winter season... this job is a year round job, so unlike a lot of jobs in Whistler I will not get laid off come summer. They are also very keen to keep me for the entire 2 years of my visa. which is really encouraging news.
This place really is my new home... Dreams coming true.
Tonight we went down to a place called "Crystal Lounge" and watched the Melbourne Storm and the Manly Seaeagles play rugby... I am now sittin about.. im going to watch the Collingwoods play the Crows soon..
Tomorrow I am moving all my stuff literally from one end of town to another... but thats ok... I will then be able to settle in a bit... and chill out some... Its all been really full on the last few days...
I feel a whole lot of weight lifted off my shoulders, but am now feeling like this place is gonna be home :)
Well Im off... gotta pack my stuff up ready to go in the morning.

There ya go! What did I tell ya!

Congratulations on the job and accomodation Chantelle. Lovely pics too. I've already told you about my Acolyte capture and I haven't any other news except that Mike has been to Beirut and is now in a hotel in Lebanon for a few days more. Then the long trip to the village in Syria where Riad's family all live on their farm.

There has been a grand hotel built 25 minutes from the village so thats where my family will be staying. Sounds as though he is having a ball although he does say he has had a bout of the trots LOL!

Luv ya

Lori
