Day 26: Monkey Park

KENYA | Wednesday, 13 March 2013 | Views [207]

In honor of Kelly’s birthday yesterday, the girls and I took her to Monkey Park. She doesn’t go out much, and Ashlyn has wanted to take her for a while. We all took the matatu in to Nairobi, where we caught another matatu to the city park. “Monkey Park” is actually just the city park, but refers to a specific grassy knoll inhabited by monkeys and peanut salesmen. We all had fun feeding the monkeys peanuts and having them jump on our backs. A bunch of local children also joined in, engaging with the monkeys and taking pictures for us. Kelly had a great time, and, although I hadn’t originally planned on going, it made for a fun and relaxing Sunday before we really buckle down and get to work this week.
