Winds of change

UNITED KINGDOM | Thursday, 25 November 2010 | Views [194]

Winds of change have blown across the English countryside.  Trees of autumn leaves ablaze with colour have slowly been transformed into icy leafless wonders.  As I type this newsletter at 4:42pm it is pitch dark outside, a fact that is not too appealing to this sun-loving ‘reptile’, as my father fondly calls me.  But thank you Jesus for central heating!  At least I can enjoy the luxury of sunless heat generation, even if there is very little sunlight stimulation to go along with it.

A change in the seasonal landscape is not the only transformation that has taken place.  I once had a prophetic word that the ‘wind of the Spirit is going to blow me from place to place’ and that I must be prepared to ‘change direction quickly’ as this would be a ‘pattern of my life’.  Before I left Cape Town in July, a seasoned prophet released a word stating that in 6 to 8 months time there would be a twist, that I ‘would not be doing what I thought I would be doing’.  As I left for England I wondered what was awaiting me in this new land.   What a joy it has been to put the full weight of my school planting training into practice.  As a builder in the Kingdom, I had great fun forming and shaping the school from the ground up.  Then came my beloved students in September who brought the school structure to life.  What a delight to see each one of these 19 pioneering students undergo rapid transformation as life changing truths penetrated their hearts. Testimony after testimony unfolded of lives impacted, sicknesses healed and the Kingdom of God being released. Once the setup of the school was complete, however, an increasing sense of the need to change my situation and circumstances became apparent.

So what change would I be talking about? The last few weeks have culminated in a decision to hand over my role in the school and to leave the tiny village of New Ash Green.  Sean and Kirby, with whom I have a longstanding friendship, had moved to London a few weeks after my arrival in the UK.  They have very kindly given me their spare room as a temporary abode in this time of transition.  This window of opportunity provides the perfect environment to refocus and take the necessary time to determine what my next steps will be.  My current plan is to stay in the UK as I have a clear call to the continent of Europe.

To those of you who have supported me relationally, spiritually and financially I thank you with all of my heart.  You play a valuable and irreplaceable role in my, at times, unpredictable dance across the continents.

Blessings.
