Adventurous Escapades

Yesterday evening we drove to Santa Monica, about 22 miles from Torrance.  This is the beach where Baywatch was actually filmed. But alas, once again, no David Hasselhoff in sight....  We drove onto the sizable pier where the famous Santa Monica pier ferris wheel resides (didn't really know it was famous, I must admit). Apparently the original one was recently sold on ebay, amazingly enough.  Afterwards we visited the Grove which is an outdoor shopping complex surrounding a farmer's market established in the 30s.  Much drooling happened at the Apple store, as in Apple Mac, not the edible kind ;-)...  Then I was treated to a feast at the Cheesecake Factory including dinner and a work-of-art cheesecake that was worth the taking of a photo....
