My Scholarship entry - The heart ~ A place where journeys begin

I'm a free spirited, adventurer and creative madwoman. I believed as a child that I could commune with the animal world and if I could have one super power it would be to fly. Music and poetry delight me, the natural world and wildlife excite me, and my love of good food and fine wines sometimes scares me. Raised by an entomologist and bird-watching enthusiast, my earliest memories are of rainforests and temples, and an intrigue with the natural world. There is no other time that I feel the sense of ‘home’ and of who I really am, more intensely, than when in the wilds of life. I have left a world of corporate boardrooms and anxiety behind, a journey that began in Honduras, May 2013; and 18 months on I have dedicated my life to pursuing my dreams so I can help bring inspiration and positive change to the lives of others. My motto and name of the business I am trying to start, is Dare to Live!. Being a part of this scholarship program would give me the opportunity to show those who are currently following my journey and those who will in the future, that with determination and courage, dreams can and do come true. My desire to feel connection with life, to understand and share the stories of nature, of life, is what drives me forward.Being a wild life and natural history photographer is my dream, travel is my passion and being in a position to influence, educate and inspire is my goal. I see this scholarship as a way of bringing these central themes of my life together; helping me to live a life I can finally love.
