My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

All my life I have been interested in photography. The greatest compliment I could receive about my pictures, is not just when someone comments that it is a good shot, but when they ask, and want to know, about the photograph; "Where was this? What are they doing? What was it LIKE?". To me, this is why I love capturing moments from around the world. To give people insight into places they only think about, to inspire them to travel, to explore and see for themselves what a diverse and interesting world we live in.
To be mentored by Jason Edwards, an exceptional photographer who shares my passion, and to be given professional advice, guidance and constructive criticism with regards to my technique and ideas, would be a dream come true. You can never learn enough with photography, and learning from the best is a bonus. Anybody can produce a beautiful photograph these days with the technology so readily available (myself included), but to know how to TAKE a wonderful photograph, to see the potential in something others do not see, is a skill I would love to improve in. And there is always room for learning and improvement.
