The canon pipes are being loaded and connected to each other for the evening show. On these days, temperatures can go over 35 degrees Celcius. My dad having just arrived with his petards and unloaded them from the truck, overlooks the work and moves in to give a helping hand to his comrades

Here the band of brothers have joined forces in order to give a helping hand in loading the petards onto the truck to be carried to their final destination. Great tension can be observed on the faces of these men who have worked for months to create these fine fire flowers and waiting in anxiety for the evening show to see the outcome of their endavours.

No it is not the Gaza strip, but the field from where one of the nicest fireworks shows on the island of Malta will take off within a few hours. This is the final inspection. Everything is ready. Concrete protection wall setup. Container at tha back containing petards to be loaded in the canon pipes during the show. And last but not least some manpower on the forefront going throu the final checks like length of cannon pipes and angle of fire depending on from where the wind is or will be blowing according to the weather report if any.
