My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

When I was 19, I hopped a plane to travel for the first time. I realized what people who stayed in one place their whole lives were missing. Experiencing other cultures, through local food and activities, created a yearning within me to see more, feel more, be more. Since that first trip, I made my home overseas, and traveled the world; hiking the Great Wall of China, climbing on the Pyramids of Giza, becoming an elephant trainer in Thailand, and more. Each of these experiences were like a puzzle piece to the real me, the me I didn't know, and was hoping to reveal. When I wasn't travelling I was learning, University degrees in Sciences and Commerce, and courses in Photography, focusing on Black & White Film and Darkroom. This gave me another passion, one that clicked perfectly with the first. I am always striving to take a better shot because I use film, each shot costs money and I don't have a lot. When I became a mother, I gave up most of my travel and learned more about portraiture for my newest passion, my kids. This scholarship would allow me to hone my skills and prepare me for a career in photography. I am outgoing, hard-working, and itching to travel to Oman! Thank you.
