How beautiful is that ! More to come

How beautiful is that ! More to come

Left gorgeous CK this morning, after poping out early to get a few more shots.
After a quick breakfast we:

Americans: Jeff & Nathan.
Brits: Nick & John.
Australians: Fiona & I.

Jumped on a minibus headed for Lince, Austria. The scenery was so beautiful, snow everywhere, covering cute little towns on the way. Got my second country stamp in my shinny new passport :-) Now I feel I'm really travelling the world !

We then jumped on a train to Vienna (Wien). Parted company with our American Friends (they were off to Graz) & found our way to the Hostel. Its so excellent having the four of us - we got a room to ourselves, so security of our gear hasn't been an issue.

"Walked in the cold air" (humming the old Ultravox song to myself as I'm typing away :-)

to listen/watch - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3OaIsqtG64

Very cold this afternoon, really feeling it for the first time, thermals now in use ! got dark very early but that worked out well because the Xmas lights & decorations are incredible here.

Got back to hostel after a few hours walking around & made our way to the common room, Guitars on the wall - sign says "feel free to take a guitar down & play !" YAY !! Jammed with some fellow travelers till late into the night. I drunk a little to much wine & am paying for that pleasure today.... my head hurts, lesson learnt - Enjoy a drink but not so much that you can't enjoy the next morning.... Fiona left us this morning :-( but we plan to meet up again in Slovinia in a few days :-) The Brits are still asleep, they love a drink those boys - lol

I'm of to take some daytime photos now & see if I can find a classical concert to go to tonight - Gotta hear some Wolfgang Amadaus Mozart In Vienna - goes without saying really.

BTW - thanks for all the comments - it really does mean alot, thankyou everyone !

glad you got our message re Marillion - wish it was us. When you're in Budapest make sure you go to Old Town/Castle - it's beautiful. The spa hotel - Gellert Hotel thermal baths are very relaxing(hotel's expensive I wouldn't stay there). There's an awsome park on the hill above there also. Buda is so gorgeous, you wil need all day to explore and pest is more modern but so much to see there too - spend a few days if you have time. We loved it. Happy travels

Glad to hear you have teamed up with other travellers, easy for the Brits to travel to this area, they are much closer. Good to have McAlpines giving you tips along the way. Hope the weather keeps fine for you, photos are so good and clear in the crisp air.
Love Mum and Dad.

Awesome photo again. looking forward to seeing more. Remember to drink water before you go to bed when you have drunk too much. You won't be feeling like you do. Well enjoy.

Hey,
Just logged on to see where your at, still in Vienna by the looks of it. Hope you've had a chance to check out the carnival there with the oldest ferrist wheel in Europe and the Lipiana dancing horses too?
Well the fact you haven't posted anymore on the blog tells me you're way to busy having fun as i knew you would.
Cheers Steve

Hi Andrew
Spoke to mum and dad this morning and they gave me your journal address. So I have now caught up with your travels. Sounds like you have made a good start to your big adventure, lots of other travellers travelling in the same direction occassionally helps for the long train/bus trips. I did start humming the Ohh Veienna song, I have not heard that song for many years, must have been the 80s. Brian and Amanda came for lunch today as they are staying at Kingscliff at the moment. Kids last week at school this week (big year for everybody), then 2 weeks for me at work and then 2 weeks in NZ before Christmas. Enjoy the trip, have fun, soak up the cultures (liquid and other kinds) and take care. We look forward to reading and see more photos.

Cheers

Stephen, Denise, Robyn and Damian
