The golden afternoon light that greeted us upon our arrival quickly faded, and we entertained the local kids in a dark room as the team worked to set up the generator and projector for the animation.

My partner and I accompanied the PRS animation team, the first 3D animation studio in Ethiopia, into the hills outside of Addis Ababa as they screened their animation to a crowd of kids in a village off the main road.

With the shaky Chinese generator outside working temporarily, the kids were engrossed in the animation even as the PRS team shuffled around the room to keep all necessary electronic pieces functioning.
