    One of the surprising scenes one might encounter in Nepal is the women labor for building constructions. In Nepal women work even harder than men when it comes to construction, however they are paid less. They carry heavy loads of construction materials while bearing most of the weight on their forehead. The young girl in the picture was working in a construction site around the Bouddhanath. by: bouddhanath Views[748] Everyday around the Bouddhanath stupa, monks, nuns, tourists and the ordinary people start their day by practicing Buddhism in different ways. The nun in the picture is meditating after the prostration practice. by: bouddhanath Views[384] There are numerous monasteries built around the Bouddhanath stupa. Many monks start their spiritual life from their early childhood years. In the picture a group of monks are doing their daily religious rituals through circumambulating the sacred Buddhist objects inside a monastery. by: bouddhanath Views[296] Based on an old trend among monks, they used to go out of their monastery with an empty bowl to ask for the food, however the process had to be done in the total silence. This monk in the picture used to stand in a corner of the Bouddhanath stupa without a slight movement in total silence for hours each day. by: bouddhanath Views[407] Whitewashing the Bouddhanath stupa is an ancient ritual aiming for conservation while at the same time is a symbol of renovation and continuity. Twice each month the painters repaint the stupa by pouring the white color on all over the dome then adding yellow color arcs round the stupa in the shape of a double lotus flower.
