Nea Fanica, the brick maker carries this craft in the family for generations. He is well known in his village and will leave his family business in the hands of his son in law.

Petre is a glassmaker at the workshop in Selimber, near to Sibiu. He makes glass art objects that are sold in whole Europe. He told me that “glass making is a men’s work not only because it is dangerous, but also because it has a lot to do with heat and sweat”.

Nicu, or “Nea’ Nicu” as I like to call him, is the blacksmith of the village Agnita, near Sibiu, also called “Hermannstadt”. I waited at his workshop until he had to make some horseshoes.
