    Nicu, or “Nea’ Nicu” as I like to call him, is the blacksmith of the village Agnita, near Sibiu, also called “Hermannstadt”. I waited at his workshop until he had to make some horseshoes. by: bogdancomanescu Views[1478] Nea Fanica, the brick maker carries this craft in the family for generations. He is well known in his village and will leave his family business in the hands of his son in law. by: bogdancomanescu Views[943] Petre is a glassmaker at the workshop in Selimber, near to Sibiu. He makes glass art objects that are sold in whole Europe. He told me that “glass making is a men’s work not only because it is dangerous, but also because it has a lot to do with heat and sweat”. by: bogdancomanescu Views[827] Coal makers, Akos-Bacsi doing his lifetime job, taking care of its coal pile. He raises about 20 such piles in one year. I visited also the dependencies of his coal piles and discovered that he’s a very humble men but also sensible, having a hut surrounded by a garden with vegetables and beautiful flowers. by: bogdancomanescu Views[1629] The fortified church of Biertan at a sunny sunrise in autumn.
