    Tel Aviv is a city of contrasts. If you care to look, tucked away behind the swanky high-rises are older, crumbling structures. Sights like this of a homeless person begging on a street corner, were not uncommon. by: bobinjames Views[220] For some reason, stray cats of all types, sizes and colours abound all over Tel Aviv. This particular spot was especially popular with the felines (thanks to a garbage dump next to it), perhaps prompting some graffiti artist to add his creation to the wall. by: bobinjames Views[1116] A structure in ruins somewhere close to the disputed West Bank area. We stopped by here on our way from Jerusalem to the Dead Sea. This also happened to be the stretch where we encountered the most security on this trip (barring the airports of course): There were military police checkposts on the road at regular intervals. by: bobinjames Views[216] A busker in the middle of a busy street with cafes and stores, at about 0030 hours. As soon as we turned the quiet, almost desolate corner in the previous picture, we were transported into this bright and boisterous world. by: bobinjames Views[214] A 24-hour corner store on a Jerusalem street, at about 0030 hours. Standing here, we didn't see the hustle-bustle we were asked to expect. Until we turned the corner, that is. by: bobinjames Views[678]
