Five miles of trails provide a unique experience to outdoor enthusiasts near the heart of Spartanburg. Trail runners, hikers, and mountain bikers share the trail system equally.

A boardwalk winds through the ten-acre beaver generated wetlands area to provide a pathway through an otherwise inaccessible part of the preserve. The wetlands are ecologically important to the Spartanburg watershed, naturally filtering street and parking lot runoff for a large area of the city.

The Spartanburg Area Conservancy partners with local Boy Scouts for various projects. So far, sixteen boys have completed voluntary public service projects like building foot bridges, benches, or information kiosks to help them earn the prestigious Eagle Scout Award.
