Philippines | Friday, September 2, 2011 | 5 photos

These photos are taken at Nacpan Beach in El Nido, Palawan, Philippines. A photo essay on how a fishing village make a living by processing dried fish.

I am Alvin Girard F. Caina, 28, from the Philippines. When I was in college, I was so excited to finish my study so I can start to work and fulfill my dreams. The first two years of working in a corporate world is fun. Maybe because everything is new and aside from I'm earning my own money and was able to help my family. As times goes by, I realized that I was not happy with what I'm doing so while working I started to search for "something" that would make me feel that I'm alive and not just surviving. And I was thankful enough that I was able to discover the wonder of travelling. Every time I travel or have an scheduled trips, be it local or international, I can't explain the feeling of excitement and happiness that I have. But I am sure that during these times, I felt the most comfortable feeling within myself. After eight years of working in a corporate world, and with a little savings that I have. I decided to quit my job to travel and live the life I wanted. I am currently travelling around southeast asia for 4 months now. I decided to document my trips by taking pictures to remind me of my travels and to share the output of my hobby in photography, and in the process, improve my photography as well. I really enjoy sharing my photos, and I want the viewers to enjoy and learn something of the places I have visited. I know that in my journey, I have found great meanings in life and with my camera on hand, I know that I was able to capture a moment worth sharing. You have to chose me so I can inspire others and prove them that we will all excel and succeed if we follow our heart and do what we're passionate about.
