This image is showing the entrance of the Pantheon and the first sight of the oculus. This was an amazing sight as we had studied this building in depth before we arrived in Italy and to see it in person, it was indescribable. To be standing in the world’s largest unreinforced concrete dome was scary and inspiring at the same time.

This photograh was taken in the colonnade of Sant'Ivo alla Sapienza, an old church located in Rome. It was deserted, except for our study group and it was one of my favourite places to sketch.

Visiting Pompeii was a highlight of my study trip. In high school my English teacher had raved about how awesome it was, so to actually go there was fantastic. I spent four hours walking around the partially buried town, and hardly covered a quarter of it.
