Once light conditions no longer permit for a moderately safe work environment, camp is made. The canopies from the cargo chutes utilized as shelters.

Touching down amidst the muskeg and black spruce of Northern British Columbia. The parachutes used descend at approximately the same rate as jumping from atop a twelve foot ladder, or 20 feet per second. As such, dialing in the landing roll and landing in the right place is critical.

Due to the thousands of trees killed by the Mountain Pine Beetle, a large amount of British Columbia's forests are comprised of standing-dead timber. Dry, dead, trees have made for a substantial increase in fire activity in much of the province. Here a BC Smokejumper talks on the radio to air support as fire, fueled by beetle-killed trees, rages at his back.
