My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

There once was a salt lake in Namibia near Dune 45. This area was cut off from the river by sand 600 years ago. Today you can trek 1.5kms to reach its centre, a white dried salt pad with black dead trees encircled by red sand dunes. Stunning.
