The Healing Power Of Travel

All I've wanted in life was to make people smile since I started drawing comics for classmates in elementary school. Since then I've found the perfect accompaniment to humor -- travel.
We all love to laugh, regardless of political boundaries. But in an increasingly globalized world, we also need to better understand one another. Nothing opens a topic up better than laughter. That's what I attempted with my documentary short Modern Enlightenment, which premiered at the Human Rights Human Wrongs film festival in Oslo. This film followed my travels to northern India, showing how Tibetans are keeping their culture alive in exile. My travel filmmaking picked up last summer when I went on assignment to cover a voyageur canoe trip through Lake Superior. That was followed by adventures in West Virginia, cycling the Ronde van Vlaanderen and two weeks in Switzerland. Now I'm spending a year in Costa Rica to cover an entirely different part of the globe, uploading travelogues as I stumble across new adventures.
The assignment in Mexico is exactly what I know I was put on this Earth to do. That is, to present travels and different cultural experiences. Unfortunately I have not been able to hop on camera as often as I would like being a one-man-team, but I hope my entry shows that I love presenting as well as filming. I truly believe this experience with Mr. Rapsey and World Nomads will continue my journey along the right track toward making the world a happier place through travel.
