About baurjoe
Joe Baur is an American author, journalist and producer based in Cleveland whose work has appeared in variety of domestic and international outlets, including Matador Network, BBC Travel, Viator and CraftBeer.com to name a few. Most recently his travel film on how Tibetan culture is surviving in exile premiered at the Human Rights Human Wrongs Film Festival in Norway and several of his films have been designated Editor’s Choice by TripFilms.com. Following a year of living in Costa Rica, where he joined The Tico Times staff and contributed travel content, Joe returned to the United States and launched the Without A Path travel podcast. Between filming and writing across the world, working with editors and updating joebaur.com, Joe remains focused on his passions of car-free travel, craft beer, culture, finding the road less traveled, adventure and urbanism — all under the umbrella of telling the unique stories people aren’t already talking about. Whether behind the camera or working with pen and paper, Joe produces authentic, professional content that leaves his partners satisfied. Throughout his career Joe has worked tirelessly with international clients and partners to promote their respective regions and services. Joe is also no stranger to the literary world. April 2014 saw the release of Best Hikes Near Cleveland with Falcon Guides. Far from a typical travel guide, Joe emphasizes urban hikes that offer opportunities in the outdoors without getting into a car – a nod to his passion for urban sustainability. He is currently working on a travel memoir covering his year abroad in Central America.
