Nodding Means No, Shaking Means Yes

The Doctor writes: So we’re in the taxi driving through these dodgy looking rundown streets when we get to our place and this place is actually really nice and really big, it was basically an apartment for only $20 each.

For the first night we decide to stay in and do nothing today as its been a long train ride with little sleep as the all too familiar middle of the night banging on the doors from border control officers  have prevented that.

But I do go out and try to find the supermarket in any case and try to buy some milk. After a very funny exchange of confused looks and an English/Bulgarian conversation in the dairy products isle from a supermarket worker I give up on trying to buy a small milk and make my way home empty handed.

The next day we got on the trolley bus to try and use up the 10 or so hrs we have until our next train. There are a few things on the tourist map that our host gave us but it can be broken down into a church or non church category.  The biggest site is a church but  it’s hard to really appreciate any churches now when you’ve been to Italy and seen St Peters Basilica.

There was a funny incident at the church where I gave some money to a homeless guy in a wheelchair who seemed to be missing some limbs only to witness him later wheel up to a car, get out and drive away...so much for being homeless. There was another sweet old lady that I gave money to who gave us a bunch of flowers.

I guess its good to just stop in on the way to a more interesting  country.
