Finally I am booked to go on a tour of Tunsia. First I arrive by plane via Singapore and Paris, and land in Tunis. A friend is meeting me and then we are going to look round. I have 10 days free time before the tour starts. My friend and me plan to hit the beaches, relax and find a nice hammam (hot thermal pool). And visit Sousse, among other places. Oh and if the tour does not eventuate, I have 24 days in Tunisia. Wow. On the tour, which is 10 days I will explore Tunis, including the medina (old city), with its winding alleys and streets. I will check out the Bardo Museum, and see mosaics and Roman statues. Next will be and the ancient city of Carthage and then the ancient Roman city of Dougga. Following that is Kairouan, a holy Islamic city with a stunning mosque and fascinating medina. Next, I venture to  the mud brick oasis town of Tozeur, then crossing the Chott el Jerid salt lake to Douz, home to many Berbers and other desert tribes. I take a camel ride!!!! in the Sahara Desert at Ksar Ghilan and hopefully will survive that. I continue to the troglodyte town of Matmata, where some of the Star Wars movie was filmed, but i can not remember the name of it. Mahdia, a charming seaside village, is a wonderful place to relax and explore, and El Jem, home to Africa’s most impressive ancient amphitheatre, is a legacy of the Roman Empire. Then its back to Tunis where I have a the whole day and then fly out in the evening. I am so excited about this.Of course my trip will involve chilling out time at beaches.
