practice makes perfect

"Oh! I shall not spare you. It is the right of a traveller to vent their frustration at every minor inconvenience by writing of it to their friends. Expect long descriptions of everything."                             --Jonathan Strange from Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke

They say that practice makes perfect. With all the packing I've done for trips short and long, I am happy to say that I can literally see my improvements. I've been sorting everything into three piles: the essentials for my carry-on bag should I be without my checked luggage upon arrival, and two carefully separated collections of outfits loosely planned in case one of my checked bags is delayed or disappears.

Tomorrow's my last full day and I have errands to run. The last minute sort, such as a book I must have, travellers cheques, and the like. These last few days have been nice (even if I haven't been as productive as I would have liked) between farewell dinners with family and friends, relaxing "see you laters" with best friends, and the joy that is cleaning and sorting (I find it to be such fun). Everything feels right.
