Edinburgh, UK
The 'Hogmanay' festival in Edinburgh, Scotland is known as "the best New Years Eve celebration in Europe" as it continues for about three days. My friends and I took the train up to Edinburgh on New Years Eve and arrived in time for the peak of the festivities. It was a great experience but NYE in the cold is just not as enjoyable as in the Summer! We partied throughout the streets and watched the fireworks at midnight, then went dancing in a local club. At around 4am we attempted to check into a hotel to get some rest and were lucky enough to get one and have some decent rest before heading out to explore Edinburgh the next two days. We saw the castle, a Winter Fair, and climbed up Arthur's Seat. It was a lovely trip, but by the second-last day of our trip we were ready to head back to London!
