Colour. Beauty. Passion.
Three of the hundreds of adjectives that run through my head when I pick up a National Geographic magazine, as each page turned brings a rush of adventure, life, a world where words are not necessary. Words are a burden.
People never cease to fascinate me, which explains my current career path of becoming a doctor. Never did I feel the power of travel photography more than last summer, when I spent two months in Central America. No better way to pass your 21st summer! The people we met, the culture, life, surroundings, and inhibitants of the countries were inspirational. Waking up earlier than everyone to catch sunrise, witnessing a sea turtle under a haze of purple sky,admiring the sun wrinkles of the elderly which spoke of untold stories, surfer lifestyles all captured my imagination.
Photography is my creative outlet of connections to moments, people, emotions and places. Winning this competition would be a life changing experience for me. I dream of working with MSF or WHO in the future, where the skills I could gain from Jason would be invaluable. I’m hardworking, eager to learn and passionate. I would honestly love nothing more.
