Fishing and crabbing in every river, creek and corner are top recreational activities, as a diverse range of waterways – both pristine and murky – surround Townsville suburbs.

A dog leaves a trail of paw prints after a morning walk when the tide is low in South Townsville. People and pets alike enjoy the city’s average of 320 days of sunshine a year especially in areas like this where dogs can run around freely and dig to their heart’s content.
