Wow, it's so cold here! And rainy. boo hoo. That was my first reaction as I felt the weather drop over 10 degrees. Reminded me of Seattle...gosh, I don't feel like doing anything...but I'm in Berlin! Quiet hostels. Where are the backpackers? Currywurst. Croissant sausages. Pub crawls. Matrix. Fat Tire Bike Tours - Blakely, the stand up comic! Checkpoint Charlie. Modern Art in an old Train Station. The Berlin Wall. Random Koreans. Politics, politics, politics. Reichstag and its dome. Sachsenhausen, the 2nd concentration camp I've ever been to. My adorable tourguide, Jacob...the closest thing I have ever seen to Johnny Depp in real life - he is Swedish and he is so smart. People who dress like Seattlelites and Vancouverites. Young people carrying instruments. Anne and Sasha, my German friends. Cheap and gigantic pastries. Hot "tee". Kreuzberg. Friedrichshain. Potsdam. Walks. Calm and subdued city. Polite and sometimes brash, esp. those bus drivers, people who keep to themselves, and who don't want your camera...this is good. Pergamon Altar. Ishtar Gates of Babylon. by King Neb II. Tablets from 3000 BC. Unreal... Dogs on no leashes. Schnitzel´s ok. my favorite..potato pancakes with sour cream and cavier.
