bursa

TURKEY | Saturday, 10 November 2007 | Views [631]

a bustling cosmopolitan city.  bursa.

stayed in an old ottoman house/hotel.

this was the first time being in turkey that i recalled seeing girls, ladies, and women wearing make-up, dressing with trends, and strutting down streets.  it was odd at that point.

i toured the city in about a day and a half.  ate iskender kebap and saw the iskender originator's grave too.  i admit it (the dish) was good - but very hard for me to eat since i have had maybe 1 bite of lamb in my life.  some of you know, it's the smell...

met two turkish girls.  we went to see the tombstones of famous ottoman leaders.  a very historical city.  they fed me roasted chestnuts and turkish traditional sweet cracker and showed me a panoramic and beautiful view of bursa.  they were so cute and polite and kept insisting that koreans and turkish were similar in culture and hospitality.  we took pictures, but none of them came out.  camera issues.  every time i'm in europe.

my last bus ride, to istanbul...
