i THOUGHT i was going to stay here a WEEK, but no.
and it's really a good thing i didn't! no offense to those who reside there. my thanks goes to the parker bros for helping me not to linger any longer than i needed to. :)
selcuk was a small town. the hostels have stiff competition here, i can tell. free home-cooked breakfast (thanks to SIMON!) and rides to ephesus which was crowded with tourists - the damn tourists. st.john lived and did stuff around here, with mary's supposed house up on a mountain, and the little museum had a gladiator exhibit. pide ("pee-day"!) with egg was yummy, and in honor of halloween, back at the hostel, we watched "the crow" which i think made us laugh more than scare us.
oh yes, we also watched the australian classic, "gallipoli". was good.
there are some kooky men in turkey tourism that i've met around this time. one who calls himself 'al pacino' and another who wrote me a strange email with his confessions of love.
ok! time to move on...
