Prague

CZECH REPUBLIC | Monday, 8 October 2007 | Views [531]

Prague.

Neatly painted and restored colorful buildings. Nobody can deny how pretty this place is. I admit though... it was not cheap for a backpacker on a shoestring. I ran into some disappointments my first few days there with food and places/activities being closed, but that's ok. Guess it was bound to happen somewhere or another!

Got to meet Jai and Michael again, two Aussies I met in Barcelona the second day of my trip!  Had the best sausages in Prague, the best - then afterwards, felt sick.  Liked hearing, "Ahoy!" which means 'hello'.  Sorry, but Prague's got to up their customer service.  Give us a break.  We're not from here.  (How dare I complain!)

Met the model family from Waga Waga.  And Veronique, my walking tour guide was cool...she helped me finally learn a thing or two about Prague's history giving it some substance.  How dare I say this!

Finished the Kiterunner after many tears.  It is true.  This book is made in such a way that everyone finishes it after three to five sittings.

Took a one-day trip to Karlstejn to see the castle.

Took a three-day trip to picturesque Cesky Krumlov, in southern Czech.

Lastly, a two-day trip to Karlovy Vary, western Czech, famous for its hot springs and International Film Festival.

These trips around Czech boosted my spirits by allowing me to rest away from a big city.

There is so much more...no time now...laters alligators...
