My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My passion is people. Adventure. Beauty. And capturing it with creativity.
I have been lucky enough to have had adventures in my life. And i have been lucky enough to own a notebook, pen and a camera.
At Architecture school I found the best way to bring the incomprehensible into the realm of understanding is through creativity. Whether drawing or photographing, the image will always be a personal one, giving new meaning to the subject, helping to convey the beauty I see.
In Tibet I was faced with several challenges. Firstly orientating myself, developing a relationship with this most extreme of environments. Then to capture it. All so I could convey this place to the many people who inevitably will never get the chance to visit.
The final challenge was what pushed me the most. To take the best possible photos I could with a $300 camera, knowing others I travelled with had the advantage of top end equipment. My inspiration: The beautiful people of Tibet, who express their love for their culture and homeland with much less than I had.
I have since invested in better equipment, growing my passion. This opportunity would allow me to share another piece of the world with others.
