Cathedral, Lima, funded by Pizarro's daughter on condition that dad got buried in the cathedral in a prominent location.
Arrived in Lima on Friday but we were too sick to do too much. Day one: took a trip to the much famed Museum of Archeology and Anthropoly only to find out that our cab driver had dropped us at the wrong one...instead we got to view erotic art of the Incan's....it was good! We were feeling too sick to actually correct our mistake so we headed back to the boat after a few hours. Day two: Sick again...aren't we pitiful! I ended up going to the doctor onboard to make sure that once we got out into the wilderness we wouldn't die without medication. I got a antibotic kit...just in case! The doc assured me that we had a virus that would run it's course in 10 days...Woohoo! Luckily that was day 4. Why did my friends and family not warn me that the elderly carry disease!!?? Day 3: Gosh...how time flies as you sleep it away. We had to disembark from the carrier of plague at 8:30 am, waited outside the ship for our taxi which took us to the hotel "San Augustine Exlusivo". Nice moderate hotel in Miraflores...good area to be. We gathered ourselves and actually wimped out by taking a city tour that afternoon around Lima. Proved to be just about our speed for the time being! Prior to the afternoon tour we walked down to the shore and had lunch overlooking the beach about 600 feet down. It was really beautiful and lunch was delicous! Isn't it amazing that no matter how sick we are once we see the food we can really put it away! After our tour we came back to the hotel (around 6:30) and decided we had just about had it for the day. Had dinner in the hotel restaurant...pretty good, then off to bed for another sleep. Woke up today feeling a tinch better...good thing cause we are headed to the airport soon to catch the first leg of our journey to Chiclayo. Cheers!
