Today we went through the Panama Canal. We arrived at the front of a short line of Ships around 5:30 am and were through the first three locks by around 9 am. Traveled down river for several hours then hit the last of the locks about 3:30 pm. It didn’t take as much time as they had originally thought. We are scheduled to anchor off of Fuerte Amador around 8 pm this evening. Lots of sun today…we are all a bit red/pink…depending on how much sun screen we put on. Or maybe that’s a golden brown I see when I look in the mirror…hmmm?? I was looking everywhere for Bernie today…I really needed him. I did learn all about the locks and other very interesting things. We were given a very long talk as we traversed through the canal on every little detail. Unfortunately, I couldn’t hear everything being said (yes, I am deaf) and certainly couldn’t answer the questions being asked! Oh well….maybe I’ll do better on the way back!
Tonight is going to be a relaxing night…movies in the room. So far the acts we’ve seen on stage have been fantastic but tonight is not up our alley – Popular jazz and ethnic music with “stunning” videos all to be seen while this gal plays on one of her five flutes….Not for me..thanks! The performer last night was a South American and he was fantastico! He made me nervous because I knew he was going to pick someone to dance with him…thank goodness he got to someone else! We’ve been sitting up front the last few shows and have discovered it is a very dangerous place to be if you don’t want to be a participant!
More stimulating dialog tomorrow! Cheers!
