well, turns out that touch of dehli belly i spoke of on my last post is actually a tummy infection and i'm now on anti biotics. but still i spent the last 3 days feeling like shite and thinking i had malaria. on tues nite i was sitting on the couch sweating with fever and half passing out, when one of my host family looked at me, then turned to one of the others and said something in swahili, and the only word i caught was 'malaria'. i then asked her what she said and she goes to me 'you're pale as a ghost, your lips are grey, its malaria'. i felt like crying. i went and had a test at the chemist which came back negative but they said you can still have it, its just not in your bloodstream yet. so i said to myself for about the 3rd time, if i'm not feeling better tomorrow i'll go to the hospital. so yesterday i finally hauled my ass to the hospital, which had surprisingly good facilities and they told me its an infection from dodgy food and or water. the whole being in a foreign country, being sick and not knowing whats wrong, havingto go to hospital, it all got a bit overwhelming and i came pretty close to breaking down. but then i pulled myself together and realised i was being ridiculous, vomiting in front of strangers is one thing, crying is a whole different ballpark! so anyway i'm on the mend now so don't fret. feeling better already! peace and loves...ange
