June 18, Busan

It has been a while since our last entry, so I will try to fill you in on everything.  Kyle and I ended up not eating at the suspicous raw fish place, we were trying to follow the owner to his restaurant and got separated from him.  We ended up at a small restaurant near our hotel.  It was a cute little wooden building that had red lanterns hanging from the the eaves.  It looked like a little restaurant that would be by the seashore.  The owner was extremely friendly, we had the usual pork grilled at our table, and the side dishes, they were all very fresh.  We also had the usual soju, but this, the owner said was special Busan soju.  Kyle later bought the same kind at the store and it was only 1500 Won for a bottle!  Like $1.50 USD, uck it made me all angry and crazy.  Seriously, my mom and Anderson should come to Korea, they could eat pork til their hearts content!

Dinner was yummy, and we talked with the owner for a little bit, he spoke English and was well traveled.  He said one of his favorite places was Papua New Guinea (another place to add to our list!)  I don't know if we mentioned this yet or not, but it was still raining, and it was super windy.  So after dinner we just went back to our love motel, where we tried to call our but it didn't work, we are not very good at calling internationally!  I sent an email to Adrianne to have her try to call the hotel, she actually tried and was able to get connected to the hotel but telling then to connect her to our room was another matter.  See email below!

I just called and someone speaking Korean answered.  It's probably the front desk.  How do I communicate that I want to talk to you guys?

I'll try to figure this out!

Okay, I called again and the lady at the front desk clearly did not understand me.  I kept asking to speak to  Kyle Johnson, Kyle Johnson, Kyle Johnson.  Every time I said Kyle's name, she'd respond with one word that sounded like a bunch of vowels running together.  Unless you can give me a direct number to your room, I have no idea how I'm going to communicate that I need to be transferred to your room.  Calling was kind of fun, though (:

I love it that she tried and spoke to someone in Korea, it is like that when they speak!
Then I was pooped out and had too much cheap soju, so I crashed.  I think Kyle ended up watching tv and coming to bed a couple hours later, after much more soju!
