Hi Everyone
I knew sooner or later we would have to
luck out with our accommodation; our run had been too good. On first
impressions this looked like a winner. It was an apartment, had big
rooms pay tv and a kitchen – we were excited. But on closer
inspection, it was not quite as clean as we would have liked, we had
to go and ask for toilet paper and there was no shower screen. Oh
well, it was fairly cheap and it served its purpose.
Our time in Prague was fairly relaxing.
The night we arrived we went on a dinner cruise that also
incorporated a bus tour around the city. The tour component was not
so good, but it was great to be able to see Prague from the water
while enjoying a few glasses of bubbly.
Prague is a beautiful city, and
yesterday we wandered the streets, visited the old town square and
watched a little skeleton ringing the bell on the town clock. We
wandered across the Charles Bridge and went to Prague Castle. The
weather wasn't kind to us early in the day, but it improved in the
afternoon. The views of Prague from the grounds of the castle were
beautiful, and although our tour guide the night before said that
tourism was way down compared to what it usually is, there were still
plenty of people around.
Later in the afternoon, we kicked back,
had a couple of drinks and went out for a late dinner. It had been
suggested to Turls that he try pigs knee, so he ordered it and it was
absolutely enormous! Given that he wasn't overly hungry to begin
with, he went home feeling full and kind of ill.
We checked out early this morning and
our now making our way to Cesky Krumlov, which we are both very much
looking forward to.
Will check in again soon,
Ange & Turls
