This is a tradition Thai style house. Jim Thompson had 6 houses imported from the countryside to Bangkok to construct his house. As a result, each room of the house, like the dining room or his bedroom, is the size of one Thai home.

This is the view of the house when you enter the grounds. It is an incredible sight simply because it is smack dab in the middle of Bangkok, about a block from MBK shopping mall. There is a ton of traffic (actually, ton is an understatement), tall buildings, and rails for the skytrain. This little museum seems like an oasis in the middle of a chaotic city.

Marble floor imported from Italy. He had windows enclosed (if there was a room on the other side) which he then used as display cases for art work and statues. Jim Thompson's home has one of the largest private collections of Asian art.
