My name is Bradley A. Cavin, I am a 23 year old UCSC Art Graduate. I am trying to figure out how to make the dream of photographing, painting, sculpting, creating with my mind and hands come true. So, I thought the first step would be working in an art and History museum, its now three years later and that path has been educational, but it lacks the adventure I feel playing in my studio or hiking ridges to photograph the next beautiful awe inspiring moment. I want to find that opportunity that will send my work to the next stage or find the person who can/wants to help me grow as an artist/photographer. I was raised in Yosemite and have a deep love of both traveling and nature. So, clearly this amazing opportunity speaks to me. As for my photos, I wanted to show a woman relating to the natural process of woman hood, where a women is juxtaposed against nature and has to find herself. Whether it be from meditation or climbing a yonal rock formation. I wanted to portray the understanding/courage it takes a young woman to be vibrant and vulnerable. I wanted the landscape to act as both a nourishing force as well as an obstacle for growth. I feel that it is difficult to describe myself in so few words, but I, like the young lady in my photos am ready for this journey and feel vulnerable to the decisions you have to make. Therefore, all I can do is tell you above all other things I love animals, nature, hiking, traveling with the belief that traveling is an adventure that begins before you leave the airport and never really ends. It continues to teach you and shape who you are, and who you want to be years later. So, thank you, thank you so much for giving me a chance to take this shot.
