Peregrinations Mexico and Central America on Motorcycle: Open road, open heart, open mind.

The adventure never ends

USA | Monday, 23 June 2008 | Views [812]

Location: The garage at my mom's house in Evergreen, Colorado. The aspen trees are blowing around outside the window, and I think it might storm soon. My dog is snoring at my feet.

Most recent meal: Granola and real whole milk! Nothing better.

Mood: A little anxious about my upcoming job interview.

Home again, home again! I arrived in Colorado five days ago after an uneventful flight out of Quito, Ecuador. Since then I've been hiking around, visiting family, eating delicious food, taking plenty of long, hot showers, and trying to figure out the next few weeks of my life. It feels great to be in Colorado, the most wonderful place I can imagine coming home to. And although the lifestyle I'm currently living is vastly different from the one I had for the past five (!!!) months, it's definitely not dull. There's a bear prowling our yard every night, I may go rafting next weekend, and I skydived yesterday morning.

Yes, I celebrated my safe homecoming by jumping out of an airplane.

What lies ahead for me? Hopefully a week up in Fort Collins to see old friends and help out at the raptor center. And, if my luck holds, a big move to Los Alamos, New Mexico for a job. But that's still very much up in the air, so keep your fingers crossed!

Thanks everyone for reading my blog all these past months. Hopefully I'll be seeing you sometime in the future to catch up in person!

        Cheers!
