My Scholarship entry - The Cultural Remnants of the Ottoman Empire

A little over a year ago I was fed up with my job, the third such job that had led me to become jaded, exhausted and hating life. I saw so many similar situations among friends, I knew I had to get out. I finally got together the courage, quit my job and set off overseas.
Around the same time I became quickly obsessed with photography, sparked by Instagram and my iPhone. It may pain you to read that, but I am not your typical Instagrammer.
This past July, after having become a Suggested User on Instagram, I felt I had outgrown my iPhone, so I bought a Canon DSLR. It was more than a bit frustrating learning to use a real camera at first, but I kept shooting nearly everyday.
I felt that during my trip to Turkey in October I finally started to round a corner. I still have more than a long way to go, but this is the path for me now. I'm never accepting anything less than doing what I love for work.
Jason has a markedly different shooting and editing style from my own, but I believe that makes him all the more valuable for me to learn from. I don't yet know exactly where I'm going or how I'm going to get there, but I know no one will put this opportunity to better use than I will.
