We've been at the Delhi airport since 6:30 last night. We collected our bags that we were made to check, and got a luggage cart. We went to check about getting a hotel for a few hours, since our flight to Varanasi doesn't take off until 10:50am today. Our Lonely Planet led us to believe we could stay in a rest room for a few hours at an affordable rate, however, this is not the case. The cheapest hotel we could stay in is a few Km from the airport and is a bit expensive considering what we already paid to get our flights.

So here we are camped in the airport lobby "visitor's lounge" with hundreds of other travelers, mostly Indian, awaiting 7:50 am (2 hours before our domestic flight takes off...the earliest we can enter the terminal and check in). We got here before the rush and got two chairs that are reclined, locked our luggage cart next to ours chairs and it's almost like a bed! It's much better than some of our neighbors who are just on the floor using their suitcases for pillows. It's been very exciting, Justin was able to charge his cell phone using the usb port on the television next to us. Although this caught the brief attention of the airport guard, with his large rifle, he didn't say anything. About the same care they gave to a man who left his whole luggage cart unattended for at least four hours, we assume he had gone to sleep elsewhere in the airport. When I went to brush my teeth at 12:30 this morning I mentioned to the guard on duty that this man had left his baggage unattended for quite sometime and it was a bit suspicious he pretty much said don't worry about it. Justin and I have been taking turns sleeping and staying up after exhausting our Uno playing, and Mad Lib writing. One very excititng and reassuring moment was when we opened up the Mad Libs to one all about INDIA!!!!! It was quite exciting. Later on as I was about to shut my eyes for the first rest of the evening a little girl who was running around got sick all over her father....Justin found this quite amusing because it didn't seem to stop her from her singing and dancing. Too much airport food and travel excitement I guess. Now we're both exhausted and I'm about to turn in again and see if I can get any sleep. From Terminal 3 @ Indira Gandhi Airport--Goodmorning.
