I am a Russian born business graduate from UK; for past six years I was doing things what everyone else wanted me to do. Choosing a course in university, getting a “real” job, still to date don’t comprehend the definition of a real job. In past year I have completely change career path and opened my eyes to the world with ambitions in photo journalism, I started to follow my dreams and doing whats important,for me, in life.
I am determined to expand the awareness of the world though photographic creativity and change the medium. Andrey Tarkovsky, Russian cinematographer ones said that: “if the world was the perfect platform to live, there would be no room for the art generation, as we would not look for the harmony but would simply live in it”. So it can be said that individual creativity is the fight against our messed up planet and society; photography is art and break throughmovement to help people see the bigger picture!
The excitement behind a task, the unknowingness, the surprising reality, the competition among yourself to take a better shot than last one is my passion which is a biggest motivation for me and drive behind photography.
With this scholarship I believe I will able to achieve my ambitions of showing the reality of existence to the world. For me this is one in the million opportunities and first major steps in my career, where I will able to obtain essential and fundamental photography skills. I am so determined to learn that I am willing to do anything, and lack of sleep and tiredness are no obstructions on my way.
Greatest explorer Sir Shackleton said: “Knowing what you want is the hardest part, getting there it is the easiest” and I feel like my future is almost here but still very distant but the only creator is myself.
