My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I am a Russian born business graduate from UK, London based, self tough amateur photographer. For past six years I was doing things what everyone else wanted me to do. Choosing a course in university, reading specific literature, getting a ‘real’ job. In past year I have completely changed career path and opened my eyes to the world with ambitions in photo journalism. I have started to follow my dreams and doing what is important, for me; in my life.

I am determined to expand the awareness of the world though photographic creativity and change the medium.

The excitement behind photography is the unknowingness of new challenges, the surprising reality, the competition amongst yourself to take a better shot than last one. It is my passion, which is the biggest motivation for me and my drive behind photography.

With this scholarship I believe I will able to achieve my ambition of showing the reality of existence to the world, and work for newspapers.. I’ll keep trying new things and pursuing my ‘impractical dreams’, i feel 2013 is about me setting the foundation for that; in exploring the new and impossible.
