The morning rituals are not restricted to the elderly. Young Hindus meditate as the morning sun rises.

An elderly man washes himself in the river despite the fact it is heavily polluted. Bathing in the Ganges is a way to both purify the soul and pay homage to ancestors, whose ashes are often poured in its waters.

A woman prays amongst offerings of candles, incense, and flowers. Tomorrow, the entire ritual will be repeated.
