My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Undisturbed moments, isolation, mystery- these I seek in everyday life, and these are the feelings which inspire me to keep searching, keep exploring; moments that capture hints of magic. This I have been doing since I was a young child - nowadays I do it with the aid of a smartphone camera. Having used various cameras, the smartphone camera attracts me the most due to its limited settings, ease of accessibility and rawness of photos.
Because imperfections make a photograph feel more accessible and real to the viewer, and because the camera used is one that many have, I see it as a way to inspire others to explore their environment and be creative with whatever means they have.
I am self taught, read articles about travel photographers, do experiments, but my work has never been critiqued by someone in the field, nor do I grasp the reality of life as a paid travel photographer (my dream job). I can read and make my own assumptions but I would like to go out there and experience it for myself. Especially in Greenland, such a cold and surreal place, perfect for capturing magical moments and one that is high on my to-visit list.
