Our next destination was Kerala, which is further south of india. We decided to take an overnight train there and looked forward to the 'not so long' journey. The whole time i was thinking about chocolate and looking forward to someone selling it onboard, but they never did. Apart from that, there were no problems and we slept on our bunks pretty well. We were told that the journey would take 11 hours and so awoke at about 0500 ready for our stop. To our dismay, we were told that we were given incorrect information and still had another 4-5 hours before reaching our destination. When we arrived in kotchi tired, hungry and hot, we followed the locals to the bus station. The buses here are amazing, there is no waiting around at all. It may be that we have just been lucky but we have been able to hop off of one bus and hop straight into another. No three buses coming at a time in India!!
Our bus journey was about 3 hours, the driving was eratic and at almost every turning or passing another vehicle, we had to hold our breath and hope for the best. Luckily, we arrived at our destination alive, after about 26hours of travelling. Munnar is an amazing mountainous area of Kerala and we were looking forward to an early morning start for our whole day mountain trek.
