Flying Foxes in Wingham

AUSTRALIA | Wednesday, 13 June 2007 | Views [1014] | Comments [1]

Kevin: The Lonely Planet and local tourism authorities highly recommended checking out the colony of flying foxes in a rainforest nature preserve in Wingham, NSW. It was well worth the side trip. Check out the hundreds of large, loud bats hanging from the trees, as we did, without having to watch out for all the poop, or guano, or whatever you want to call it.

It's not the sharpest video ever. Not used to putting things on YouTube for maximum quality. Had a higher quality version that we attempted to upload multiple times, but it keeps failing to encode properly, leading to heartbreak. Will try something else for next time!

Kevin: Port Macquarie has a large colony of bats at the
Coolonbong Creek which is nearly right in town near the
historic cemetry.
