Despite the nearly 100 degree Fahrenheit heat, one guide ditches his soft leather shoes and runs up and down the dunes barefoot in his heavy garb. His laugh echoes on the wind as he runs, his sense of freedom clear.

Slowly the group makes its way into the desert, leaving behind buildings for numerous rolling dunes of increasingly size. As the camels instinctually follow the camel in front of them, one guide leaves his grouping behind another to veer off and blaze his own side path.

By the time the group reaches the camp, the sun is beginning to set. A large dune is the perfect place to see the sunset and get a bird's eye view of the Berber camp where the group will spend the night.
